From Cancer Survivor to Skincare Entrepreneur: Julie Sheridan’s Tale

After my third battle with cancer, including a breast cancer diagnosis in 2020, I became deeply committed to reducing my chemical exposure and using only healthy, natural products on my skin. I started by searching on Google, but quickly realized that wasn’t enough. That’s when I discovered the School of Natural Skincare, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I signed up for the Certificate and the Diploma, and it all blossomed from there.
I love everything about the School—the education is phenomenal, the formulations are beautiful, and the ingredients are wonderful. It fits perfectly with my values, and as an artist, making natural skincare has become my way of expressing myself creatively. It brings me so much joy and has been invaluable to my recovery, both physically and mentally. Honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without it.
What started as a vision to make products for myself and my family has turned into a thriving business. My brand, Joy by Julie Beauty, now offers a range of products that are 100% natural and vegan, and I use environmentally sustainable packaging wherever possible. I’m selling at markets, online, and even in a few local craft stores. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m learning so much about my customers and how to refine my product line to suit their needs.
I’m always inspired to try new things. My next project is formulating a high-performance serum, and I’ve been working on facial skincare products like oils, creams, and lotions. This journey has been slow but rewarding, and my long-term goal is to see my products on store shelves. Making natural skincare products with the knowledge I’ve gained from the School has given me a sense of purpose, and I feel like I’m doing something good for the world. It has truly been an invaluable part of my recovery and my life moving forward.”
