Formulating Natural Foot Care Products

Formulate with advanced keratolytic ingredients for smooth, soft feet.

Limited Edition Class - Available Now - Doors Close Monday 29th June

Create your own high-performance foot care products to soften, smooth, and hydrate your feet—perfect for a rejuvenating home foot spa.

Foot skin is prone to hyperkeratosis, leading to thickened skin, roughness, calluses, and cracks. In this class, you’ll explore keratolytic ingredients, including salicylic acid, lactic acid, urea, and allantoin, which help shed dead skin and restore softness.

Three skincare experts in a product lab.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

The theory and science

Regular emulsions moisturize dry skin but aren’t effective for hyperkeratosis, which causes thick, rough, or cracked skin, often leading to calluses and corns.

To treat hard, dry skin on the feet, stronger ingredients like keratolytic agents are needed. These work by breaking down keratin, helping dead skin shed naturally and leaving the skin softer.

You will learn:

  • Salicylic acid
  • AHAs
  • Urea
  • Allantoin

As this is a more advanced class, it is suitable for formulators who are already confident with making emulsions and testing and adjusting pH.

Ready-to-use formulations and guidelines for formulating your own products

In this class, we’ll share four high-performance foot care formulations designed to treat dry, rough skin, hyperkeratotic skin, as well as calluses and cracked heels.

Herbal Foot Soak – with urea and allantoin to soften the skin with their keratolytic properties.

Refreshing Foot Scrub – a non-greasy, gel-based scrub with ground pumice, as a natural physical exfoliant.

Anti-Callus Foot Lotion – a light, quickly absorbed lotion with urea and salicylic acid for their keratolytic, skin softening properties.

Softening Foot Cream – a two-in-one product that exfoliates rough skin and hydrates dry skin. Formulated with lactic acid as a chemical exfoliant and panthenol to promote skin hydration and regeneration.

You’ll receive a beautiful PDF textbook to download and you can watch us make the Refreshing Foot Scrub in our detailed step-by-step video demonstration.
