You’ll have access to the course for six months inside our online classroom. You can download the course textbooks, worksheets and charts for lifetime access.

We’ve broken the course into eight manageable steps to take. We recommend setting aside a couple of hours to complete each step, plus you may like to spend additional time using the resources provided to learn about skin types and research ingredient options.

A variety of formats are used, including comprehensive and beautifully designed course textbooks (provided as PDFs that can be downloaded), quick reference charts and video demonstrations.

This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience. It is the perfect introduction to formulating from scratch. It is helpful if you have worked with carrier oils and essential oils before, but not essential.

The course teaches you a proven formulation process where you will think about who you are creating a product for, what their needs are and how your product can meet them. This involves ‘formulating on paper’ before you actually make your product. In the final steps of the process you will choose ingredients and make your facial oil, if you wish.

Therefore, for many of the steps no ingredients or equipment is required. When you are ready to make your formulation you can buy the ingredients you have selected (carrier oils, essential oils and Vitamin E) and organize the equipment to make your product. You will need digital scales, a glass lab beaker and suitable packaging. So, only a small amount of equipment and a few ingredients are required to complete this course.

The course is a self-study, self-paced course so you can study at a time that suits you.

This is a self-study introductory course. If you encounter any technical difficulties with the course materials or accessing them, you can reach out to our customer service team at hello@schoolofnaturalskincare.com. For support from our cosmetic scientists, we recommend joining our Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation, which includes a weekly Q&A session with our tutors.
