Student successes: Copper Coast Natural Skincare

Meet Victoria Flanagan, creator of Copper Coast Skincare, Ireland

Victoria took our Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation in 2015. We catch up with her and see how her business is flourishing.

Why did you decide to start your brand? What was the catalyst/inspiration behind it?

I wanted to create products and know exactly what they were made of, using natural ingredients. I first started looking into products when my son began to suffer with dry skin and found this was related to the hand wash, etc, I was using, so following further research I decided to produce my own.

What is the essence of your product line?

Using natural ingredients, my handmade range includes lip balm, whipped body butter, body wash and lotion, and also shaving soap

What is your favorite or most popular product from your skincare line? Why do people love it?

Whipped body butter – 100% natural, easy to use, great texture and feel on the skin

What do you love about running your business or creating your products?

I love that my products are unique to my company. I run my business from home so this fits in well with family life.

How has the Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation helped you with your business?

It’s helped me understand how to formulate properly, why to use different ingredients and what they are for.

What did you enjoy most about the course?

I loved learning about a wide range of ingredients and what they can be used for.

What advice would you give someone who dreams of starting their own skincare line?

Have funding in place: work out what you think you need and double it!

What do you do to relax, unwind and get away from it all?

Spend time with my family, go to the beach, horse riding
