From Hobbyist to Entrepreneur: How One Natural Skincare Student Is Turning Her Passion into a Successful Business

Leanne Simcock is a 41-year-old mother of two from Melbourne, Australia who has always been interested in healthcare, particularly skincare. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health science in natural medicine and currently works in administration at a hospital. 

Leanne’s passion for natural skincare led her to try and make her own products over ten years ago, but she struggled to get them right. “I started looking up recipes in books and online and I started trying to make products, and I just found I was having a lot of problems with products separating and being too oily,” she explained.

Despite her early struggles, Leanne persisted in her desire to create her own skincare products, and eventually stumbled upon the School of Natural Skincare in 2015. “I came across the School of Natural Skincare, and that was when I first enrolled in the first couple of courses, which back then was the Beautiful Body Care course and the Facial Skincare course,” she recalls. She then enrolled onto the School’s Certificate in Making Natural Skincare Products and Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation online courses.

Leanne had been searching for comprehensive training in natural cosmetics for months when she came across the School of Natural Skincare. So I really love organic ingredients and am really mindful of what I put on my skin,” she explained.

“Starting my own business is a dream come true,” Leanne says. “I am finally able to turn my passion for natural cosmetics into a profitable venture, and I owe it all to the School of Natural Skincare. The training and support I received there were instrumental in my success.”

Thanks to her studies, Leanne has been able to turn her passion for natural cosmetics into what very well could be a successful business. “I have my own business now, and I make all my own products, and I sell them,” she explained.
